Dr. Ankita Singh was brought up in India, where she learned very early in life the values of education and hard work. Initially, Hindi was her native language, and through her school, yoga and meditation were a part of her curriculum which had a positive impact for her life.
Throughout her early life, Dr. Singh consistently found herself reading about health and fitness, and knew that she wanted this to play an important role in her life. Because of this, it was a cause for celebration when she was accepted into one of the top medical schools in India, which has a very competitive medical industry.
Dr. Singh began her professional career working at local hospitals in India, when her life took a major turn after meeting her future husband, and beginning the process to come to the United States. After arriving to America, Ankita got married and volunteered at local hospitals while she studied for her medical boards.
After this, Dr. Singh began a residency with the University of Toledo for family medicine, and since then, she has worked as a hospitalist, where she is currently still practicing. Dr. Singh is dual board certified in both obesity medicine and family medicine.
In 2022, Dr. Singh, who is very active in philanthropy and non-profit work, launched her scholarship fund, the Dr. Ankita Singh Scholarship for Future Doctors of America, which provides scholarship funding for students who are studying to become medical doctors.
